Mr. Progar has tried over 50 jury trials to verdict in both state and federal courts. He was lead counsel for the dealer in a case involving a Ford Explorer rollover accident, which resulted in the deaths of two occupants of the vehicle and serious injuries to four others. The settlement of the case was reported by Chicago Lawyer as the second largest in Cook County, Illinois in 2002.
A number of articles Mr. Progar has written have been published in legal journals and newsletters. He also authored the draft of commentary relating to hearsay for the second edition of the book Emerging Problems Under the Federal Rules of Evidence, which was published by the Trial Evidence Committee of the Section of Litigation of the American Bar Association. The book has been relied upon as authority in several federal circuit court of appeals decisions. He regularly speaks at seminars for insurance claims representatives, attorneys and paralegals, on issues relating to insurance coverage, trial practice and alternative dispute resolution.
